About Jennie

Courage.

It takes courage to begin the process of therapy. You may be asking yourself, “Why am I here?” or “Do I really need therapy?” If you’re asking those questions, you are in the right place!

I often tell my clients that going through therapy is a lot like detangling Christmas lights. There are moments when it is easier to detangle the mess and others where it takes a bit more time. The results are beautiful, practical and hopefully very helpful.

My Education and Training:

  • Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling – Colorado Christian University, Colorado Springs, CO
  • Bachelor of Arts in Communication – University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, CO
  • Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate - LPCC.0021531 Colorado

What do I do when I'm not doing therapy.

You can find me hanging out with my husband and daughter. We love to have dance parties in the kitchen and spend as much time outside as we can.

In the summertime, I love to garden and grow flowers and vegetables. I enjoy baking and trying new recipes!

I also enjoy drinking coffee and trying one of the many local shops in the area. I love trying new foods but would eat Mexican food every day if I could.

My Journey to Becoming a Therapist

I have always been a “people person” and knew that when I grew up I wanted to be someone who helped others. I first gained interest in becoming a therapist while working in full-time ministry with college students. I have great empathy and compassion for others and I wanted the tools and knowledge to be able to help individuals through some of their darkest days. Through this process, I began my journey into therapy and saw the healing and freedom I could have in my own life when I was allowed to process the good, the bad, and the ugly.

Now, I get to help others through their battles!

What does the process look like?

First, we’ll have our consultation call to determine that we are the right fit to work together. I’ll ask you about why you’ve chosen to reach out at this time, what your challenges are, and what your goals are for therapy.

During the intake, you will share your desired goals and outcomes for therapy, and I will share approaches for how we get you there. I believe the therapeutic relationship is a sacred space.

I desire that clients can come into each session and be themselves. It is important to me that therapy isn’t just serious but that there are moments of laughter as well. Therapy is a journey of ups and downs, and each individual deserves guided support along the way for a fruitful experience. Each person has a different story that is worth sharing and is possible to rewrite. Sessions are for the client, and I work to be flexible and creative to create an experience that is catered to your needs and desires.

The hope is that we strategically work together for you to grow and thrive in your life.

What do I use to help you make the transformation happen?

I work using a variety of approaches to therapy including person-centered, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and art-based interventions.

Taking the First Step.

There will always be a reason to not start therapy but take this moment for yourself now to begin the healing journey. You won't regret it!
