About Colleen

I See You and I am Here to Help

Taking the steps to seek help can feel daunting and overwhelming. I am glad you are taking the first of many steps to work towards the change you want to see.  You deserve to feel peace and happiness in the life you are creating. I look forward to working collaboratively with you to reach your goals.

My Journey to Becoming a Therapist...

My journey to becoming a therapist began during my undergraduate studies when I sought therapy for obstacles I was facing. With the guidance of a compassionate therapist who played a pivotal role in my healing journey, I realized the impact of having a listening ear during times of uncertainty.

Motivated by my own experiences and my desire to support others on their own paths to healing, I find myself in a role to do just that. I find beauty in the opportunity to assist others in reaching their goals and navigating life’s complexities.

My Education and Training:

  • Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling – Adams State University, Alamosa, CO
  • Bachelor of Arts in Psychology – Arcadia University, Glenside, PA
  • Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate - LPCC.0022423 Colorado

When I am not doing therapy...

I find fulfillment in being active through running or hiking, exploring local coffee shops, and playing board games.

In my downtime, I also enjoy the transformative power of music, whether it's experiencing it live or streaming from my living room. Music has played a significant role in my personal healing journey, leading me to moments of peace and joy.

What is it like to work with me?

My approach is compassionate, non-judgmental, and tailored to meet your individual needs. Through our work together, I aim to empower you with insights and strategies that will enable you to make meaningful changes in your life.

What Does the Actual Process Look Like?

First, we’ll have our consultation call to determine that we are the right fit to work together. I’ll ask you about why you’ve chosen to reach out at this time, what your challenges are and what your goals are for therapy.

During the intake, you will share your desired goals and outcomes for therapy, and I will share approaches for how we get you there.  I believe the therapeutic relationship is a sacred space.

I desire that clients can come into each session and be themselves. It is important to me that therapy is not only serious but that there are moments of laughter as well. Therapy is a journey of ups and downs, and each individual deserves guided support along the way for a fruitful experience. Each person has a different story that is worth sharing and is possible to rewrite. Sessions are for the client, and I work to be flexible and creative to create an experience that is catered to your needs and desires. The hope is that we strategically work together for you to grow and thrive in your life.

Healing that Lasts

I am passionate about utilizing an integrative and holistic approach that allows for your unique needs to be prioritized. I often integrate the following therapeutic approaches and modalities:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)
  • Narrative Therapy
  • Mindfulness & Art Incorporation
  • Solution Focused- Therapy (SFBT)

Courage

Seeking therapy takes courage—it's a step that acknowledges the challenges we face and our willingness to address them. While the journey isn't always smooth, therapy provides valuable support and guidance to navigate life's ups and downs effectively.

It's about empowering yourself to explore, heal, and grow, ultimately leading to a more balanced and fulfilling life.
